Young Jamie learns of an open invitation for anyone who wishes to serve the King to attend the Royal Tournament of Knights as a Kingdom Seeker. But he only has nine weeks to make the dangerous journey. His uncle encourages him to go when Jamie meets Jessie, who has made the journey many times and knows the best route. But even with such a good guide, Jamie still manages to get in trouble with a fair share of trials, temptations, unruly giants, scary monsters, thieves, and treacherous terrain. What must Jamie learn along the way to help him safely arrive at the Tournament of Knights where he hopes he may find a place to serve the King?
Through allegorical storytelling, presenting biblical themes reminiscent of the classic The Pilgrim’s Progress, author Bethany Mathie takes children of all ages on a journey of discovery and wonder! She layers each chapter in Jamie's story with parallels to biblical parables, spiritual truths, and transformative faith lessons.
The story is made even better with the Story Chats Discipleship Guide which tools families with discussion points on deeper life and faith principles for parent and child Christian discipleship. Illustrations by Noah Brown complement the storytelling with compelling visuals to delight a child’s imagination.
Whether you use this book in a homeschool setting for Bible or literature, a Sunday School lesson, or family-time devotions, Jamie's Journey will prove to be a treasure trove of biblical truth to enrich young and old alike for years to come.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Bethany Mathie grew up in a home immersed in the love of God, a love for the classics, and a love for the power of story and dramatic storytellers. She used her ability to conjure up fanciful tales throughout her childhood in both Christian school classrooms and homeschool settings. Her talents were well invested during her babysitting years when she served in the church nursery and as a mother’s aid. Her cheerful heart, boundless energy, creativity, and storytelling skills helped her steward the children in one family—and drew a dozen more from the neighborhood to look after whenever she set foot in the yard.
Eventually, stories and storytelling morphed into the writing of research papers and essays in high school and college, to writing loan documents and real estate descriptions when she entered the real-world marketplace. But motherhood brought a seismic shift, as she transitioned from working full time to staying home full time.
Thoroughly embracing this homebody chapter in her life, Bethany spends her day-to-day moments as wife and mom, homeschooling, and baking bread.
She volunteers as a Sunday School teacher at Calvary Chapel Vineland in Southern New Jersey. Everyone at church says of her, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” since her publisher and editor also happen to be her mother.
