 Mackenzie Finn is a rising teen from New England who learned to play the guitar from her worship leader father and participates in the music ministry at her church and Christian school. She has been ice skating for 6 years and has won many first place medals in both solo and syncro competitions. Her artistic talent is evident in her many crafty creations such as jewelry designs and crocheted goods. Her Nana is very proud of her and hopes one day to publish one of Mackenzie's books. And if you haven't guessed by now, she is Miss Kathy's oldest grandchild. Mackenzie was happy to receive Julie Lavender's first book in The Amazing Series: Constance and the Battle for Wonder. My brain was fried at the latest writers conference I’d attended. From nine in the morning to eight at night, in class after class, I walked, listened, and took notes. Next day, repeat--my feet shod in the shoes of weariness and exhaustion. I'd spent four years writing and working to get my book published. All I wanted was to push that baby out! Hurry! Hurry! Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock. Coo-coo, coo-coo, coo-coo. Another hour passes, and we were so busy that we didn’t have time to . . . Does that sound familiar? It is one of the most discussed topics today. We are always saying things like, “Gosh, where did all the time go?” or “I wish I had more time to_____” especially when it comes to our writing. Yet each of us is given the same amount of time each day. What is the difference between a writer that is published and a Hopeful Writer?  In real estate sales for over 30 years, Sam Siligato is also active in his church, teaches Sunday school, and hopes to turn his lifelong desire to write into a more active ministry as he approaches the new season of retirement. He has been published in the Amy Writing Awards, War Cry, and Upper Room devotionals. In addition, his book So You Want to Be a Landlord was written from experience in rental investment. He resides with his wife Sherry and has three grown, married daughters with six grandchildren.
